Wodonga Eyecare will remain open to provide essential eye care for our patients during the COVID-19 period.
We are in an unprecedented situation and will continue to take every measure available to “flatten the curve” while safely providing the community with essential and emergency eye care.
We want to reassure you that we are taking extreme care to maintain appropriate physical distancing and disinfection protocols to reduce the risk of spreading the coronavirus to our patients and staff.
For your safety, we have split our staff into two teams who will work alternate weeks. We will be open for business at reduced hours from Monday to Thursday each week 9.00am – 2.00pm and closed Friday to Sunday. For this reason, we will be understaffed, so we ask for your patience during this difficult time.
What to expect when visiting us:
– On arrival we ask that you remain outside the front doors and wait to be greeted
– We will ask you some questions and perform a non-contact temperature check
– We will ask you to sanitise your hands when entering and exiting the practice
– We will limit the number of patients in the practice to one, whenever practicable
– We ask you to attend your appointment alone if possible or with one family member/carer if required
– All surfaces, equipment and frames will be thoroughly disinfected between every patient
This situation is constantly evolving and we will keep you informed of any further changes to our operating hours. Until then we look forward to being able to provide the high-quality eye care and reliable service that we have always strived to achieve.
We encourage you to stay at home if your needs are not essential, especially if you are over seventy, are unwell or have other health conditions that could put you at increased risk of severe disease if you were to contract the virus.
However, if you experience any of the following, please call us as soon as possible:
Eye pain or discomfort
Recent changes in vision
New red eye signs or symptoms
Flashes of light or new floaters in your vision
Recent eye trauma or foreign body
New onset double vision
Stay safe dear patients and please call us if you have any questions or concerns.
‘See you’ on the other side!
Kelly , Rebecca and the WEC team
